We all have understood how much the VFX industry is growing. With such growth, the industry has opened up a lot more career avenues for young minds. It has become a career choice for many people because of the rewards and creativity it has to offer.
There are tons of job opportunities in the industry however; sometimes a lot of aspirants do not even know what positions are available for them to work on.
Job Roles for VFX artist are as follows

1. Layout Artist

Layout Artists is responsible for communicating ideas through visual and textual representation during the process of story boarding or pre-production.

2. Compositing Artist

The work of compositing artists includes blending the visual effects perfectly with the background. A compositor’s job is to take care that there’s not even a single glitch in the video and he also has to eliminate the visual disturbances in the video that can ruin the experience of the viewer.

3. Lighting Artist

Lighting artist is responsible for maintaining the perfect lighting to illuminate the scene. As a lighting artist, you will be responsible for adding digital lights to all the scenes. They also work with virtual elements like lens flare, to give the illuminating effect to the images.

 

 

4. Rendering Artist

Rendering converts the lifeless things into reality thus to be a render artist. The entire transformation process of converting the models into real visuals depends heavily on the render artists. Rendering artists are in huge demand in the industry.

5. Roto Artist

In visual effects, rotoscoping involves the tracing of all the frames using digital software. It is the actual point where computer graphics meets real life. Roto artist has the freedom to create scenes that would otherwise be impossible to produce.

6. Matte Painter

Matte painter uses sketches, digital paintings and transforms them into digital paintings that look almost real.  Matte painter is one of the essential techniques of VFX. Artists mix digital painting and compositing techniques to create stunning visuals that we all see in movies and films.

7. Match Mover Artist

Matchmoving has become a standard in the Visual effects industry. A match mover artist is basically a person who is an expert in both 2D and 3D. Mach Move artist is responsible for matching the live-action camera with a computer graphic camera using track matte options.
As a match mover, you have to ensure that all the movements, proportions blend perfectly with computer graphics without any glitch and give a natal and realistic feel in the end.
Apart of this there are some other job roles like Video Editing artist, Motion Graphics Artist, 3D Visualizer, etc.  It has become the future of our media and entertainment industry with tons of career opportunities to go for.
