In recent past days we have lot enjoyed films like Bahubali, Bajirao Mastani, Robot, Manikarnika and many more from the Bollywood and Avengers, Star Wars, Guardian of the galaxy,Matrix from the Hollywood. Viewers have enjoyed these movies lot as they were larger than the life. This has become possible just because of Visual Effects (Commonly used as Vfx or Visual Fx)
People usually like watching something beyond their imagination; this is just possible with the help of Visual effects (Visual fx/VFX).
What is Visual Effects?
A visual effect is a post-production process. Visual effects (commonly shortened to Visual FX or VFX) is the term used to describe any imagery created, altered, or enhanced for a film or other moving media that cannot be accomplished during live-action shooting. In other words VFX are digital, made on a computer in post-production. 

Visual effects (VFX) have drastically changed the film industry for the better.

VFX & SFX
VFX are digital, made on a computer in post-production. Special effects, SFX are practical (props, make-up, animatronics, pyrotechnical, etc.), made on set during production. You can also mix them up, like shooting a SFX footage and composite it using VFX.

Role of VFX artist
As VFX is computer generated process, it needs VFX artist who have good knowledge of creating VFX.
You can think of visual effects artists as creative engineers. They are responsible for the out-of-this-world and impossible-to-film scenes and characters in your favorite shows and movies. Depending on the size and budget of the project, VFX artists may play a more general role or specialize in a particular category, such as characters or backgrounds.
VFX artists, sometimes referred to as multimedia artists or animators, have a variety of responsibilities, which will vary depending on the position.
Skills needed to VFX artist
A VFX artist should be good at creativity. Collaboration, communication, research ability, attentive, problem solving, Working to detailed are important skills of VFX artist but this not sufficient you also need some technical knowledge of computer, UI, UX, prototyping, 3D Modeling and various post production software as per industry requirement.
This simply defines VFX artist is a Tech-Creative person. In one hand VFX artist must be good at technology and in other hand good at creativity.
FUTURE of INDIAN VFX Industry
The VFX industry has become a key component of Media & Entertainment Industry. In recent years, the industry has been very robust and dynamic. Movies, video games, cartoon shows, take any of them and you’ll see how rich they are with visual effects.
Not only this, Indians artists are contributing lavishly for the mounting success of these blockbusters Hollywood movies. India is currently well positioned in the global VFX industry.
According to various reports and survey about industry VFX industry in India is growing at 31% CAGR.
